Congratulations! This is the start of your US Journey.

Here is the step-by-step guide on how to apply for NCLEX-RN for New York State as a Foreign Nurse, and also please do check the link below for the forms and website.

1. Download Form 2F – Certification of Foreign Nursing Education.  

Fill out Section 1 with your information and don’t forget to sign the form and print it out. Section 2 will be answered by the University you graduated from, make sure to request for TOR and RLE. Once completed, let your school send it directly to NYSED (mailing address found on the bottom part of 2nd page) . I paid around Php 3,000.00 (TOR, RLE, Courier). Most Universities are aware of the process so no need to worry. 

2. Two Mandatory Course – Child Abuse Certification and Infection Control Certification

I Completed the Online Course at Access Continuing Education and paid 30 USD for each course. You will be given time to read the course and then you will take the examination to gain the certificate. Twenty Questions each course, it was easy and passed with almost a perfect score. Just read and comprehend.

3. Download Form  1 – Application for Licensure for Registered Professional Nurse

Fill out the form with all the necessary information, print and notarized and also attach your  Child Abuse Certificate of Completion, Infection Control Certificate of Completion, High school diploma and Nursing diploma. And paid a registration fee of 143 USD.

Tips and Tricks

1. READ. Nysed website for complete guidance.
2. Double check all the information most especially the spelling.
3. Keep your courier receipt so you can track your documents.
4. Have a separate email for your NCLEX application.
5. Check the status of the application through the Contact Us Form. Make sure to allow 6 weeks upon receiving the receipt of your online application in the email before inquiring about the status of your papers. 
6. Approval email to take the NYS NCLEX Examination took around 6 months to receive so start now.
